Repti Turtle Sulfa Dip - Net Wt. 4.5oz. (127.6 g)
- Aids in the treatment, control and prevention of external bacterial diseases, and in the prevention of secondary fungal infections of aquatic and box turtles.
- Fast acting isotonic solution allows infected tissue to absorb medication quickly.
- Non irritating to your turtles eyes.
- For aquatic or box turtles only. Not for land tortoises.
- Contains: Sodium Chloride (for solution isotonicity), sulfisoxazole and neomycin sulfate.
Directions (as quoted from the packaging):
Dissolve two teaspoonfuls in enough water to make one quart (0.946 litres) of dip solution.
Place the solution into a tub, bucket or small aquaraium that is not much larger than the length and width of your turtle.
The solution should barely cover the top of your aquatic turtle's shell or the top of the legs on your box turtle. (Your turtle should comfortable be able to life his head out of the medicated solution). Should the water (solution) level be too low, then mix a second quart of the dip solution until desired water level is achieved.
Soak infected turtle for 1 to 3 hours, then return to primary aquarium/terrarium.
Do not reuse solution. Discard and make fresh solution before each treatment.
Cleaning the carapaces and plastrons (upper and lower shells) of the turtles before placing in the solution will enhance its effectiveness (do not place dirty or algae covered animals in the solution).
Repeat daily for 7 treatments. If problem persists after 7 treatments, consult a reptile veterinarian.
For new arrivals or as a preventative:
Treat turtle(s) as above for two treatments minimum.
For captive pet animal use only. Keep out of reach of children.
