WARNING
This lamp will work best in a perfectly vertical position, in a CERAMIC lamp fixture designed to take its wattage. This lamp produces ultra-violet light like the sun, therefore it is important not to look at it directly. It is safe to look at it through glass or plastic as these materials filter out the ultra-violet light. Do not be tempted to use it as a tanning lamp or for any other use than with live reptiles and amphibians. Turn the lamp off when working within the vivarium. Do not turn it on again for at least 10 minutes, after which it will then take approximately 5 minutes to come back up to its full brightness. These lamps get hot; don’t allow reptiles to be able to touch them. Do not spill or splash water onto the lamp as this may cause it to break, after which it must be disconnected and safely disposed of. Follow the guidelines for the minimum distance that the lamp should be used above your live reptiles and amphibians.

WARNING
This lamp will work best in a perfectly vertical position, in a CERAMIC lamp fixture designed to take its wattage. This lamp produces ultra-violet light like the sun, therefore it is important not to look at it directly. It is safe to look at it through glass or plastic as these materials filter out the ultra-violet light. Do not be tempted to use it as a tanning lamp or for any other use than with live reptiles and amphibians. Turn the lamp off when working within the vivarium. Do not turn it on again for at least 10 minutes, after which it will then take approximately 5 minutes to come back up to its full brightness. These lamps get hot; don’t allow reptiles to be able to touch them. Do not spill or splash water onto the lamp as this may cause it to break, after which it must be disconnected and safely disposed of. Follow the guidelines for the minimum distance that the lamp should be used above your live reptiles and amphibians.

The flood lamps produce a diffused area of heat and light, including the UVB. These will be the lamps of choice for most applications. The spot lamps produce a highly focused area of heat and light, including the UVB, and can be used to pick out a basking spot from a longer distance away, such as to heat and illuminate a single rock or branch. The spot lamps and high wattage lamps are particularly applicable within zoo and room sized cages.
