Place a small amount of food in cricket's feeding area (approx. 1/2 teaspoon for 10-25 crickets). Feeding dish should be checked and filled every 1 or 2 days. Crickets must be well nourished before feeding them to your reptiles. Uneaten dry food should be removed after several days.
Water should be provided in a moistened sponge or similar material. Water may also be added to the food, but uneaten moistened food must be removed within 12 hours.
Crickets and most other feeder insetcs may be maintained on T-Rex Calcium Plus to keep them healthy and to nutritionally enrich them as food with added calcium and vitamins. The ILF series of Superfoods (Insect loading Formula’s) are designed to maximize the nutritional value of feeder insects by providing a concentrated formula that is carried in the insects’ gut, and absorbed into the insect’s body. The contents of this formula are then absorbed by the animal that eats the insect during the digestion process.
This series of foods is highly concentrated, and are not designed to raise or maintain feeder insects, but to be fed to them for 24-48 hours prior to them being fed your animal. For mealworms, it works great as a medium in the feeding bowl. For example, in an 8-ounce deli-cup, add about 1/8 inch to the bottom of the cup, and then add mealworms.
